General Labourers, Foreman/Crew-Lead

G.L.V. Travellers is looking to fill positions for both general labourers, as well as foreman/crew-lead positions for their playground, spray park, skate park, and general landscaping division. There will be special consideration with those candidates with a aptitude for small engine repair and mechanical repair knowledge, those with related experience, and those with crew-lead or foreman experience.


General labourer responsibilities, including cleaning and preparing job sites and loading/unloading materials. Using a variety of tools and machines, such as backhoe/skid steers/packers, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, etc.


The successful candidate must:
Be in good Physical Condition
Have the willingness and aptitude to learn how to use trade specific tools and equipment.
Good communication skills
Have a valid drivers license OR transportation
Willingness to travel to occasional out-of-town work
Be at least 16 years of age
Be available for 6+ days per week
Be fluent in English
Provide steel toed, CSA certified work boots, long pants, and sleeved shirts.

While there are no minimum educational requirements for this position, those who have specialized skills will have first consideration.


Hourly wages between $16.00 and $20.00
A company work shirt, jacket, and employee handbook with necessary information
Lunches included during Edmonton based work.
Travel, living, and 3 meals a day included for out of town, overnight jobs
Overtime is time-and-a-half, and calculated after 8 hours in a day.

This position is full time with a 4 to 6 month employment period. Competitive pay, provided meals, and a great working environment. Permanent, year-round work is available, but competitive for the few positions that exist.

Work will commence ~April 15, 2015, and will go until ~November 15, 2015.
